	PostgreSQL has a number of administrative front-ends. The primary one is `psql <http://www.postgresql.org/docs/current/static/app-psql.html>`_, a command-line tool for entering SQL queries. Another popular PostgreSQL front-end is the free and open source graphical tool `pgAdmin <http://www.pgadmin.org/>`_. All queries done in pgAdmin can also be done on the command line with ``psql``. pgAdmin also includes a geometry viewer you can use to spatial view PostGIS queries. 	Find pgAdmin and start it up.	pgAdmin を見つけて、起動します。
	If this is the first time you have run pgAdmin, you probably don't have any servers configured. Right click the ``Servers`` item in the Browser panel.	pgAdmin の実行が初めての場合には、設定済みのサーバを持っていない可能性があります。ブラウザパネル内の ``Servers`` を右クリックします。
	We'll name our server PostGIS. In the Connection tab, enter the ``Host name/address``. If you're working with a local PostgreSQL install, you'll be able to use ``localhost``. If you're using a cloud service, you should be able to retrieve the host name from your account.	PostGIS という名前を付けておきます。Connection タブの ``Host name/address`` に入ります。ローカルにインストールした PostgreSQL で作業している場合には ``localhost`` を使うことができます。クラウドサービスを使っている場合には、アカウントからホスト名を取得できるはずです。
	Leave Port set at ``5432``, and both Maintenance database and Username as ``postgres``. The Password should be what you specified with a local install or with your cloud service.	Port は ``5432`` のままとし、Maintenance database と Username は ``postgres`` のままにしておきます。Password はローカルにインストールした時に指定した、あるいは、クラウドサービスで指定したパスワードを入れます。
	Creating a Database	データベースの作成
	Open the Databases tree item and have a look at the available databases. The ``postgres`` database is the user database for the default postgres user and is not too interesting to us.	データベースのツリーを開いて、現在有効なデータベースを確認します。``postgres`` データベースは、デフォルトユーザの postgres のデータベースですが、これは気にしません。
	Right-click on the ``Databases`` item and select ``New Database``.	``Databases`` を右クリックし、``New Database`` を選択します。
	Fill in the ``Create Database`` form as shown below and click OK.	``Create Database`` フォームに次に示すことを記入して OK をクリックします。

	Select the new ``nyc`` database and open it up to display the tree of objects. You'll see the ``public`` schema.	``nyc``データベースを選択して開くと、オブジェクトのツリーが表示されます。``public`` スキーマが表示されます。
	Click on the SQL query button indicated below (or go to Tools > Query Tool).	次に示すSQLクエリボタンをクリックします (もしくは Tools > Query Tool に移動します)。
	Enter the following query into the query text field to load the PostGIS spatial extension:	次のクエリをクエリテキストフィールドに入力して PostGIS エクステンションをロードします。
	Click the Play button in the toolbar (or press F5) to "Execute the query."	「クエリの実行」にはツールバーの Play ボタンをクリックします (もしくは F5 キーを押します)。
	Now confirm that PostGIS is installed by running a PostGIS function:	PostGISをインストールされているか確認するには次の関数を実行します:
	You have successfully created a PostGIS spatial database!!	これで PostGIS 空間データベースの生成に成功しました!!
